Calculate the tax and total
Enter the pre-tax amount and the tax percentage you have confirmed for the purchase. 80.00 at 8.25% adds 6.60 in tax, for a total of 86.60.
How it works
Tax = pre-tax amount × rate ÷ 100. Round the tax to two decimal places, with half a cent up, then add it to the original amount. A zero rate adds no tax.
What this estimate covers
The entered rate applies to the entire amount. The calculator does not know your location, item category, exemption, tax holiday, or seller’s rounding procedure. It is an arithmetic estimate, not a determination of tax owed. No external rate data is fetched, so there is no rate-update timestamp to show.
Amounts run from zero to 10,000,000 and rates from zero to 100%, each with up to two decimal places. Use digits and a decimal point, without commas or currency symbols. To apply a discount first, use the Discount calculator.
