Speed and accuracy describe different things
The timer starts with the first entered character. Type the displayed passage until the time limit, finish early, or complete the passage exactly. The result shows corrected speed, accuracy, total characters, and elapsed time.
If 250 characters remain after 60 seconds, and 240 match the passage at the same positions, corrected speed is 240 ÷ 5 ÷ 1 = 48 WPM. Accuracy is 240 ÷ 250 × 100 = 96%, and uncorrected speed is 50 WPM.
Compare repeat attempts fairly
Use the same duration, passage, keyboard, and correction habits when comparing results. An omitted character shifts later positions and can lower accuracy until it is corrected. This method does not attempt to infer the words you meant to type.
The two supplied passages are English, and this test is not a multilingual typing assessment. The result uses the actual time if you finish early. Very short tests are unstable, so attempts under ten seconds receive a reminder. The page does not save your typing or results. For practice on longer material, choose the two-minute limit and repeat the passage selection on another attempt.
