Look up a code, not a full phone number

Enter the three-digit area code without +1 or the rest of the number. For example, 602 returns Arizona, in the United States. 416 returns Ontario, in Canada. Both use the international prefix +1.

The lookup uses regional labels and geographic-number metadata from Google’s libphonenumber project. Source revision date: October 8, 2026. Retrieved: October 15, 2026. These dates identify the bundled snapshot, not a promise that every recent numbering change is present.

Coverage and interpretation

The snapshot contains 359 US and 56 Canadian geographic codes. Labels describe the source’s numbering regions, and may be broader than a city. The lookup does not provide caller time, time-zone guesses, ownership details, or a live location.

You can inspect the pinned source labels. The bundled extract is distributed under Apache License 2.0, with its attribution notice.

FAQs

Why does a code say not in this list?

The snapshot covers 415 geographic US and Canadian codes. It excludes toll-free and other nongeographic codes, other countries in the +1 plan, and codes absent from the source. Missing does not mean invalid or unassigned.

Can this tell me who called?

No. People can keep a number after moving, and caller ID can be spoofed. The region is a reference label for the code, not a live phone location or identity check.

Does an area code show someone’s current location?

No. People may keep their number after moving or use it while traveling. The listed region describes the numbering data, not where the phone or caller is now.

Have an idea for a tool I should add? Send it in. I read every suggestion and choose which ones to build next.

For example: "Count the weekdays until a date, without holidays."
