What leaves the photo and what stays
Metadata removal leaves the compressed picture unchanged. It cannot change what the picture itself reveals.
Source data left behind
EXIF, XMP, IPTC, and text/comment blocks can contain camera details, dates, or GPS locations. These source blocks are removed. A minimal orientation tag is kept when needed.
Still worth checking
Faces, street signs, reflections, and other visible details stay in the image. Review the filename too. Color profiles and display information remain; profiles can contain descriptive information.
The tool removes supported metadata containers, not visible personal details. It keeps JPEG, PNG, and WebP in their original format; AVIF metadata removal is not supported.
Keep the photo, remove the extra data
Choose a still JPEG, PNG, or WebP and select Remove photo metadata. Download the cleaned copy in the same format. Nothing is uploaded. Removing a few metadata blocks may save very little; the tool does not recompress the picture.
What changes and what stays
Source EXIF, XMP, IPTC, comments, text, and unsupported auxiliary data are removed from supported containers. The compressed image data stays unchanged. A minimal orientation tag is generated when needed so a portrait does not turn sideways. Color information is kept to avoid changing how the image looks. An unsupported or damaged structure produces an error rather than a converted download.
Look at the picture too
Metadata removal cannot erase a street sign, face, reflection, or document visible in the pixels. Color profiles can contain descriptive information. The downloaded name uses your original filename with a “clean” suffix; rename it if that name is sensitive. Keep the original privately if you need its capture date or camera details later.
